Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority (BJWSA) is a quasi-governmental utility that provides essential water and wastewater services across Beaufort and Jasper Counties in South Carolina, within the state's Lowcountry region. It serves more than 70,000 retail customers.
The authority's operations encompass two primary services. It treats and delivers an average of 39 million gallons of drinking water daily. Separately, it manages wastewater services through its reclamation facilities, including the operation of what is noted as South Carolina's first sustainable water reclamation facility.
As a public infrastructure entity, BJWSA's work centers on the comprehensive management of water systems for the communities it serves. Its operational focus includes maintaining large-scale treatment, delivery, and reclamation infrastructure for a significant residential customer base.
