Power Construction is a general contractor and construction-management firm founded in 1926 by Jerome Goldstein, originally to bring electricity to rural communities. Nearly a century later, the company manages complex construction projects across the healthcare, education, hospitality, science, multifamily and corporate sectors. Its operations are rooted in the greater Chicago metro area, with national reach across the United States.
The firm is family- and senior-management-owned and is consistently recognised by Crain's Chicago Business as one of Chicago's largest and most respected general contractors. It has been named a top workplace year after year and reports an employee retention rate of 92%.
Power Construction describes itself as a people-driven organisation oriented towards long-term relationships, with a stated belief that a better way of building is always possible and an appetite for innovation. The company recruits builders who want to work in the field. Team activities have included beach volleyball in Grant Park, brewing beer together and attending neighbourhood festivals, alongside community giving in the markets it serves.
