Startcampus is developing, building, and operating the SINES Data Campus, an AI-ready hyperscale data center campus in Sines, Portugal, situated on Europe's Atlantic coast. The campus is designed for rapid deployment of hyperscale cloud, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing workloads, offering scalable, turnkey infrastructure at large scale.
The company targets 100% renewable energy and employs ocean-based cooling systems to achieve high efficiency with minimal water use, pursuing Net Zero Water and Net Zero Emissions goals. Its sustainability strategy is structured around four pillars: Community, Planet, Industry, and Company. Startcampus supports local projects through its Gamma Community platform.
The SINES Data Campus is expected to create up to 1,200 direct jobs and up to 8,000 indirect and induced positions. The project leverages Sines' position on the Atlantic coast, with technical capabilities spanning subsea connectivity, sustainable cooling systems, data center operations, and hyperscale cloud infrastructure.
