About the Role

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our Critical & Technical Services team. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a critical data center environment. You will play a key role in ensuring operational reliability, safety, and performance across electrical and engineering systems.


What You’ll Do

• Assist with daily site inspections of all mechanical and electrical systems, including servicing and maintenance

• Ensure the facility maintains safe and optimal environmental conditions

• Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and carry out emergency repairs

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across all equipment

• Monitor BMS systems and respond to HVAC and technical issues

• Conduct building walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve facility and plant faults and defects

• Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with CBRE processes and regulations

• Escalate any subcontractor performance issues against service agreements

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and perform routine quality checks

• Follow all health, safety, and compliance standards

• Complete all required training and certifications


What You’ll Need

• Technical training (apprenticeship or equivalent) with 1–2 years of relevant experience

• Electrical competence is required

• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role

• Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and team members

• Ability to follow defined procedures and work standards

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset

• Basic math skills (percentages, calculations, etc.)
