Overview The Physical Security Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and ongoing support of enterprise physical security systems. This role partners with security operations, IT, facilities, and third party vendors to ensure physical security technologies are reliable, scalable, compliant, and aligned with organizational risk management objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical engineering skills with a deep understanding of physical security principles, system integration, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities System Design & Engineering
- Design, deploy, and maintain physical security systems including:
◦ Access Control Systems (ACS) ◦ Video Management Systems (VMS) / CCTV ◦ Intrusion Detection / Alarm Systems ◦ Intercoms and perimeter protection technologies
- Develop system architecture, engineering drawings, network diagrams, and technical specifications
- Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and resiliency requirements
Integration & Technology Management
- Integrate physical security platforms with IT infrastructure, identity management systems, and SOC tools
- Support API-based integrations, databases, and middleware solutions
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements or upgrades
Operations & Support
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for physical security system issues
- Perform system tuning, health monitoring, and root cause analysis
- Support incident response, investigations, and forensic video review when required
- Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and runbooks
Project & Vendor Management
- Support physical security projects from concept through deployment
- Work with integrators and manufacturers
- Review vendor designs, statements of work (SOWs), and acceptance testing
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget
Risk, Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
- Participate in security risk assessments and audits
- Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery planning for physical security systems
Skills & Requirements Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Security Systems, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise physical security systems
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with leading security platforms such as:
◦ LenelS2, Genetec, CCURE, AMAG (ACS) ◦ Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec (VMS)
• Strong understanding of:
◦ IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, PoE) ◦ Server infrastructure (Windows/Linux) ◦ Databases and system integrations
- Ability to read and produce technical schematics and drawings
Professional Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work cross-functionally with security, IT, facilities, and leadership
- Comfortable handling sensitive security information
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting global or multi-site security environments
- Familiarity with cloud-hosted or hybrid security platforms
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles as related to physical security systems
- Experience supporting 24/7 SOC operations
Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)
- Physical Security Professional (PSP)
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
- Manufacturer certifications (Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone)
- Relevant networking or IT certifications (e.g., Network+, CCNA)
Work Environment
- Combination of office, data center, and field/site work
- Occasional after-hours or on-call support may be required
- Travel may be required depending on site footprint
