Maincode is an Australian artificial-intelligence company that builds purpose-trained AI models end-to-end in Australia, with operations in Melbourne. The company has committed $30 million to an AI factory and works directly with AMD engineering teams on advanced GPU capabilities before they reach the broader market. Its stated approach combines rigorous research with fast-paced engineering, and its technical domains span large language models, AI model training, multi-agent systems, code generation, AI-native user experiences, human-computer interaction and GPU compute.

Among its products is Matilda, described as Australia's first native-made language model, trained entirely on local infrastructure using Australian data. Maincoder is a one-billion-parameter code-generation model which reports 76% functional code correctness on the HumanEval benchmark, a level of performance the company says is comparable to much larger models. Both are developed in-house by a team of researchers and engineers working across frontier AI research and production systems.

The company's work is oriented toward intelligence augmentation: building systems intended to amplify human capability rather than replace it. Alongside model research, Maincode is active in software development and code generation, and in the design of AI-native user experiences.
