Cabling Subcontractor Resource Manager

Onnec is seeking a Cabling Subcontractor Resource Manager to manage and develop our network of structured cabling subcontractors across the APAC region.
The role is responsible for ensuring Onnec has access to the right subcontractor capability, capacity and geographical coverage to support project delivery and operational services. Working closely with Operations and Delivery teams, you will build strong relationships across our subcontractor network, maintain visibility of available resources, identify coverage and capacity gaps, and ensure suitably skilled teams can be mobilised to meet customer requirements. This role is pivotal in ensuring Onnec can confidently support existing customer commitments and future growth across the region.
What you’ll be doing as our Cabling Subcontractor Resource Manager:
Subcontractor Network & Capacity Management
- Develop and maintain a network of approved structured cabling subcontractors across APAC, ensuring sufficient geographical coverage and technical capability to support business needs.
- Maintain visibility of subcontractor capacity, availability and capability across the region, aligning coverage to current and future project requirements.
- Identify subcontractor coverage and capacity gaps and implement plans to strengthen the network in key locations.
- Work closely with Delivery and Operations teams to forecast subcontractor demand and ensure resources can be mobilised effectively to support project delivery.
- Enable the timely mobilisation of qualified subcontractor teams to support new customer requirements and project opportunities.
Delivery Partner Management
- Establish and manage effective processes for subcontractor engagement, onboarding and ongoing performance management across APAC.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic subcontractors and delivery partners.
- Identify, assess and onboard subcontractors with the appropriate technical skills, capability and capacity to support customer requirements.
- Conduct regular face-to-face subcontractor meetings, performance reviews and capability assessments.
- Support commercial discussions relating to subcontractor rates, capacity commitments and service expectations.
- Develop a strong understanding of subcontractor strengths, specialisms and regional coverage to support effective project planning and delivery.
Governance, Compliance & Delivery Support
- Ensure subcontractor activities are delivered in line with Onnec's compliance, quality and governance requirements.
- Oversee subcontractor onboarding, compliance documentation and performance reporting.
- Ensure project and operational service requirements are supported suitably qualified subcontractor teams within agreed timescales.
- Work with Delivery teams to prioritise subcontractor capacity across strategic customers, programmes and locations.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Delivery, Sales, Procurement and Commercial teams to identify and mitigate subcontractor capacity risks that could impact project delivery.
What we’re looking for in our Cabling Subcontractor Resource Manager:
The successful candidate will experience managing subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, or partner networks within a technical, engineering, structured cabling, date centre or infrastructure environment.
- Strong process-driven mindset with procurement, commercial, contract negotiation and rate management experience.
- Experience working with engineering teams, ideally within structured cabling and/or data centre environments.
- Relevant technical qualifications (BICSI/CNet/EPI/etc) are an advantage, but not mandatory.
- Ability to manage supplier onboarding, compliance and performance in partnership with Procurement and Operations.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Practical, proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work under pressure and respond to changing priorities.
- A collaborative team player who can work independently in the field while leveraging support from the wider team.
