St. James Place of Baton Rouge is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community that has provided senior living care for more than four decades. Founded in 1983, the organization operates on a 52-acre campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, serving as what is described as the Gulf South's largest active adult community. Its Episcopal heritage informs a culture centered on warmth and compassion, with a mission framed as "Living Life Well."
The community delivers a full continuum of care on a single campus, encompassing independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing. This model allows residents to transition between levels of care as their needs change without relocating. A dedicated foundation is maintained to ensure no resident faces financial hardship.
St. James Place offers over 200 programs to its residents. The organization is grounded in the principle that aging should be a time of joy, connection, and continued growth. Its presence spans the Baton Rouge area and the broader Gulf South region across the senior living, healthcare, and retirement community sectors.
