The Florida Aquarium is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation founded in 1995, dedicated to marine wildlife conservation through research, rescue, and education. It is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) and holds American Humane certification. The aquarium operates from Tampa, Florida, with a conservation campus in Apollo Beach focused on coral conservation and sea turtle rehabilitation.
The organisation's facilities include the Coral Reef Gallery, a 500,000-gallon panoramic exhibit housing sand tiger sharks, sea turtles, and hundreds of reef-dwelling fish. Additional experiences offered to visitors include SeaTREK underwater walking tours, Wild Dolphin Cruises aboard a 72-foot catamaran, and African penguin encounters.
The aquarium maintains a mission centred on inspiring stewardship of the natural environment. Its conservation campus at Apollo Beach extends this mission through hands-on coral restoration and rehabilitation programmes for sea turtles. The organisation's operations span multiple sites across the Tampa Bay area in Florida.
