About the role
TOPPAN Information Solution (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an experienced Data Center Operator / Onsite Engineer to join our growing team. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth and efficient operation of our data center infrastructure. 1 year renewable secondment contract will be provided to suitable candidates.
What you'll be doing
- Monitoring and maintaining the performance and availability of computer systems and servers
- Performing regular backups, data archiving, and disaster recovery procedures
- Troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues in a timely manner
- Implementing security measures to protect the data center and its assets
- Documenting and maintaining detailed records of all system activities and incidents
- Collaborating with the IT team to optimize system performance and efficiency
- Providing technical support and guidance to end-users as needed
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience as a Data Center Operator / IT Support / System Administrator or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and data center management software
- Experience in UNIX/LINUX commands
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery protocols, as well as data security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Certification in relevant IT or data center operations a plus
7x24 shifts 5 days (Stable shifts: 0800 - 1630; 1530 - 0000; 23:45 - 0815)
