Location: Poland – Field based (approx. 80% work near Warsaw, with travel across Poland and occasional EMEA travel)
Schedule: Full-time, with participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation

About the Role
Vertiv is hiring a Field Service Engineer – Thermal to support our growing service operations in Poland.
This is a hands-on, field-based role where you will be responsible for commissioning, servicing, maintaining, and repairing thermal management and HVAC systems used in mission-critical environments such as data centers and technical facilities.
You’ll act as a trusted technical partner to our customers, ensuring their cooling infrastructure runs reliably, efficiently, and safely. Most of your work will be located around the Warsaw region, with additional travel across Poland and occasionally across the wider EMEA region.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy technical problem solving, independent work, and working with advanced infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
You will respond to assigned service calls and perform preventive maintenance, system start-ups, and emergency repairs on Vertiv thermal management equipment and associated systems.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining strong communication with customers and internal teams, ensuring work is performed in line with safety policies, technical standards, and industry regulations.
You will manage service activities through Vertiv’s field service systems, complete accurate documentation, and keep the scheduling team informed about job progress and schedule updates.
You will also help maintain high service quality by supporting planned maintenance targets, identifying potential service or sales opportunities, and ensuring Vertiv processes and compliance requirements are followed at all times.
As a field representative of Vertiv, you will build strong relationships with customers and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach in all interactions.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a technically capable and customer-focused engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems in the field.
You should have:
- Technical education in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
- 3–5+ years of experience in a technical service or maintenance role
- Good knowledge of HVAC systems, cooling technologies, or thermal management equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to plan and manage multiple service activities effectively
- Good communication skills and a customer-first mindset
- Valid Category B driving license
- Basic computer skills including MS Office
- English language skills (spoken and written) are an advantage
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline would be considered a plus.
Work Environment
This role is primarily field-based, working at customer sites such as data centers, industrial facilities, and technical environments.
The role may involve:
- Travel to customer sites across Poland and occasionally within EMEA
- Participation in an on-call rota for emergency support
- Physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting tools or equipment
- Working with mechanical and electrical equipment in varying environments
All work is performed following Vertiv’s strict safety standards and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
